Turkey, Burkina Faso agree to start visa exemption

Ministers of foreign affairs of Turkey and Burkina Faso met in Ankara on Thursday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Burkina Faso's Minister of Foreign Affairs & Regional Cooperation Bedouma Alain Yoda held a joint press conference following their gathering in the Turkish capital.

Speaking at the conference, Davutoglu said Turkey would soon open an embassy in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou, moreover, the two countries had agreed in principle to start visa exemption for official passports.

Noting that Burkina Faso was a central African country which was of great importance for Turkey's new policy towards Africa, Davutoglu said high-level officials from both countries would hold talks in the upcoming period.

Pointing to the 11 million USD trade volume between Turkey and Burkina Faso, Davutoglu said the economic relations between the countries would gradually improve.

Moreover, guest minister Yoda said in his part that his country could cooperate with Turkey in various areas.

Yoda also said that he expected Turkish investors' participation in the upcoming airport construction project in his country.
