Heavy snow freezes Eastern Turkey

Heavy snowfall and freezing weather conditions have paralyzed life and traffic in most parts of Turkey.
Many provinces in east Turkey, which were affected by freezing weather, saw temperatures dip well below zero. Eastern province of Erzurum experienced its coldest night with minus 32 degrees Celsius.

The temperature was minus 29 degrees Celsius in Agri, minus 21 in Ardahan, 17 in Kars, minus 14 in Erzincan and minus 9 degrees in Igdir, officials reported.

Village roads in several countries have been closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall.
