Armenian FM meets with EU special representative S. Caucasus

On Jan. 21, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby.
Summarizing Armenia’s 2009 achievements in European integration, the parties underlined that Armenia-EU relations with EU member states keep on progressing dynamically in multilateral and bilateral format.

Nalbandian also added that Armenia intends to take effective steps on further strengthening of its ties with EU.

The officials exchanged views on EU Eastern Partnership program, considering significant to use the program’s full potential, development of association agreement, signing of an expanded and complex agreement on free trade, as well as simplification of visa restrictions.

Nalbandian and Semneby also touched upon Karabakh peace process and recent developments in Armenia-Turkey reconciliation process.
