Aside from IMF officials in Ankara, experts working at the Turkish desk in IMF headquarters in Washington D.C. are participating in negotiations between Turkey and the IMF.

Turkey is expected to sign a two-year or 18-month stand-by agreement with the IMF, an agreement which would provide an important amount of funds to be used by Turkey immediately.

IMF Turkey desk chief Rachel Van Elkan is expected to arrive in Ankara soon to conclude the talks between Turkey and IMF.

Following the end of talks between Turkey and the IMF, a letter of intent signed by Turkey will be sent to the IMF Executive Board for approval.
