Bishkek and Dushanbe will accelerate the process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon discussed the issue with visiting Kyrgyz Prime Minister Temir Sariev in Dushanbe on June 8.

The sides noticed the positive tendency to broaden the Kyrgyz-Tajik bilateral cooperation.

"Following the meeting President Rahmon said that he will give instructions to the relevant Tajik authorities to speed up the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border with Kyrgyzstan," the Kyrgyz government reported.

The meeting also focused on the cooperation in regional security. Special importance was attached to the development of the bilateral cooperation in energy supplies, the China - Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan railway construction, as well as the Turkmenistan - China gas pipeline construction.

The implementation of the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (CASA-1000) electric power line project was discussed. The project opens the Afghanistan and Pakistan market to export electricity.
