Turks and Armenians can settle the issues related to the 1915 events, said the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, TRT Haber news channel reported Apr. 21.
He said the use of the said events against Turkey as an instrument of political pressure is unacceptable.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place.
While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
Turkey has repeatedly said it stands ready to open archives to find out the truth about the 1915 events and called on Armenia to create a joint commission for this matter. However, Armenia ignores the offer.
