21 October 2013 [11:50] - TODAY.AZ
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu supported Saudi Arabia's refusal from the seat on UN Security Council, a message from the organization said on Monday.

According to the information, Saudi Arabia's refusal from the seat on UN Security Council must contribute to the change of double standard policy of the UN Security Council.

Saudi Arabia that became a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the first time in its history refused from the seat on the organization "due to double standard policy and ineffectiveness of the Security Council in solving the key international problems," a statement of Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry said.

The Turkish president Abdullah Gul also supported Saudi Arabia's refusal from the seat on UN Security Council and stated that the organization loses credibility in people's mind.

According to the Turkish president, Saudi Arabia's decision is right and the permanent members of the UN Security Council ought to think about this.
