US State Department reports Mideast talks to be refreshed on August 14

Direct talks between Israeli and Palestinian negotiators will resume on August 14 in Jerusalem, the US State Department announced Thursday, dpa reported.

State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said the next meetings after that was set for Jericho, but no date had been named.

US mediator Martin Indyk will travel to the region to support the talks. Secretary of State John Kerry is not expected to comment on or be involved in the next rounds of talks.
