High-ranking generals of Turkish Air Force step down says newspaper

The Chief of Staff of the Turkish Air Force, Lieutenant General Nezih Damci, commander of the country's higher military aviation schools, Major General Atilla Ozturk and commander of Turkey's military aviation schools, Major General Ziya Camal resigned, Hürriyet newspaper wrote on Monday.

According to the newspaper, nearly 170 military servicemen of the Turkish Air Force have resigned since the beginning of the year, 123 of which are pilots.

It is expected that Ankara will host the meeting of the Supreme Military Council with participation of Turkey's President and Prime Minister on August 1-4, 2013.
