12 July 2013 [09:00] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia will chair the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly. This decision was taken at the BSEC General Assembly on Thursday.

The 41st two-day assembly was held in Sofia. According to the rotation principle, Georgia assumed the EU presidency for six months.

Chairman of the Georgian delegation David Saganelidze delivered speech at today's meeting. It should be stressed that he was elected vice-president of the General Assembly.

Saganelidze briefed members of the Assembly with a letter of the Georgian Parliament speaker David Usupashvili and expressed hope that the BSEC members will continue supporting Georgia's European integration.

The next session of the General Assembly will take place in Georgia in December.

"I am pleased that the period of my work in the Parliament coincided with Georgia's presidency in the organization for six months," Saganelidze told reporters. "The results of the PA committees' activity on various topics will be announced in Tbilisi on December 17-19."
