Iranian president calls on urgent Muslim unity

28 January 2013 [11:15] - TODAY.AZ
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cautioned Muslim nations about enemies' divisive plots and asked them to grow united against the arrogant powers, FNA reported.

Addressing the 23rd International Conference of Islamic Unity here in Tehran on Sunday, President Ahmadinejad warned that arrogant powers are seeking to create a rift among Muslims.

He stressed the necessity for unity in the Islamic community, and added, "We should stay united and follow (the Holy) Quran and Islam's prophet. Now, all 1.5 billion Muslims love Quran and reading it but why aren't they united?"

"Had the people in Pakistan and Afghanistan been united how could the US (forces) have deployed its forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan?" Ahmadinejad asked.
