Tehran, Moscow to hold economic committee meeting

07 January 2013 [11:00] - TODAY.AZ
Iran and Russia will hold their 10th joint economic committee meeting in the second half of the Iranian calendar month of Bahman (February 3-18, 2013), ISNA reported.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko will co-chair the meeting.

The two sides are scheduled to discuss bilateral ties in the fields of mining, transportation, urban development, health, tourism, and energy.

Salehi has said that the value of trade ties between Iran and Russia can reach $10 billion dollars annually, Press TV reported.

Salehi said that the current volume of Iran-Russia trade falls short of their potential.

"The two countries can cooperate more in the political, economic, trade, and cultural areas, oil and gas, and construction of power plants to raise the value of bilateral trade to $10 billion dollars a year," he was quoted as saying.
