03 December 2012 [14:38] - TODAY.AZ
Turkey is ready for all measures to stop terrorism in the country, and does not exclude the variant of holding the talks with members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Beshir Atalay was quoted today by newspaper Yeni Safak as saying.

"The problem of terrorism is urgent for Turkey," he said. "Ankara is ready for all measures to stop the terrorism, not excluding the variant of holding the talks with the PKK members."

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. Over 40,000 people were killed. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
