Turkish production aircraft to be named 'Turkish bird'

The first aircraft of the Turkish production planned to be built within a few years will be named Türkku?u (Turkish Bird), Anadolu agency reported.

The name of the aircraft was chosen following a competition held on the website of Aviation Association of Turkey. For six months anyone could send their proposal to name aircraft and then by a majority vote of website visitors, the name Türkku?u was chosen.

It is expected that the manufacture of the aircraft will be completed by 2014. In the same year, the aircraft will be commissioned.
