Iran FM shows optimism on result of nuclear talks

14 June 2012 [12:41] - TODAY.AZ
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says Tehran is optimistic about the final result of negotiations with the six world powers (P5+1).

“I am optimistic about the final result of the negotiations between Iran and the P5+1,” Salehi said at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Tehran on Wednesday.

“The two meetings held (in Istanbul in April 2012 and in Baghdad in May 2012) were on the right track and we hope that the Moscow meeting will also proceed in a constructive way,” he added.

He called on both sides to exercise patience toward the negotiations.

Iran and the P5+1 -Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany- wrapped up their last meeting in Baghdad on Thursday May 24 after two days of negotiations.

Both sides agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow on June 18-19.
