Azerbaijani president congratulates Azerbaijani canoeists on world success

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has asked minister of youth and sport Azad Rahimov to extend his congratulations to the country`s national canoe team which showed successful performance in the world championship in Canada. The Azeri canoeists won three medals - a gold, silver and bronze.

Gold came from Valentin Demyanenko in the 200-m race. Silver and bronze medals came from the Sergey Bezuglov/Maksim Prokopenko double in the 1000m- and 500m-races.
