“I expected that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow will not repeat mistakes of his predecessor."

"Unfortunately he also took this way, which is endless”, Professor Rustam Mammadov, expert on Caspian issues, said while commenting on Berdimuhamedov’s plan to sue Azerbaijan at the International Court of Arbitration.
He said this move would be useless and Turkmenistan will put an end to the Caspian negotiations. “There was no any legal act, which Turkmen president quotes speaking about the Kapaz field. It was invented by Ashgabat. The regulation of the Caspian issues is based only on the political experiences of the Caspian littoral states. It needs to find a model of understanding between the littoral states to hold normal talks. They threaten us to sue at the International Court of Arbitration. Let them do that. I don’t see anything dangerous. It is in favor of Azerbaijan”.
