Gurbanli said that the Azerbaijani press had experienced huge developments and have proved itself.

"Earlier the Azerbaijani press cited and referred to foreign media, while the world press quotes Azerbaijani media now. The Azerbaijani press has made itself a centre of development," he said.

He added that Azerbaijani journalists do not lag behind their foreign colleagues in terms of professionalism.

The government constantly supports press development, he said.
