03 July 2009 [13:22] - TODAY.AZ
Armenia expects Turkey to take practical steps in terms of establishing bilateral relations.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said.

“Armenia and Turkey have agreed to  establish ties and open borders without any precondition. If Turkey is ready to fulfill this agreement, we will welcome this and expect practical steps,” Nalbandyan said at a press conference.

He said there is not just dialogue between Armenia and Turkey. The countries are holding serious talks the new stage of which began in September 2008.

He said in spring of 2008 Armenia and Turkey reached certain agreements which calls for normalizing ties and open borders without any precondition.

He said earlier Turkey set some preconditions related to resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and “Armenian genocide” to resume ties.

“During negotiations we agreed to normalize ties without any precondition,” the minister said.
