The issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved only through negotiations. says the president of Croatia Stjepan Mesic.

"It is better to negotiate for ten years than to fight for at least ten days", he said at a press conference in Yerevan on Friday.
Speaking on the experience of Croatia, the President recalled that under the Constitution of Yugoslavia, the republics included in it were regarded as states, which autonomous regions as constitutive elements or components of the federation.
"If not for the forces that have chosen war as a solution to issues and attempted to change borders, we would have all our problems solved peacefully. But, unfortunately, the military solution has taken up and we suffered a huge loss while the boundaries have not changed a millimeter", said Mesic, noting that former republics became independent due to military solutions.
"It has become necessary to resolve Kosovo's status. Serbia did not have the capacity either to establish its authority in Kosovo or conduct further negotiations. As a result, Kosovo declared its independence, and a new reality that we recognized has appeared", he said.
President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic arrived in Yerevan last night at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
The main purpose of the first visit of the President of Croatia in Armenia, to identify priority areas and objectives of economic cooperation between the two countries is the strengthening of inter-state relations, promoting scientific and educational and cultural relations.
