Today marks 15 years since the announcement of the ceasefire on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

The Bishkek truce protocol signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia came into force on 12 May 1994. Despite the fact that on 12 May 1994, hostilities were suspended, the Armenian armed forces continue to fire at the front-line settlements in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
The Armenian side is violating the ceasefire every day. The highest intensity of violations was recorded in Agdam, Khojavend, Fizuli, Gazakh, Terter and Tovuz areas. The lower intensity is observed in Gedabek, Djebrail and Geranboy regions of Azerbaijan.
Over the past 15 years, Armenians violated for 236 times. Due to the violations of truce by the Armenian armed forces Azerbaijani soldiers and officers were killed.
According to Azerbaijan's estimate, released in cooperation with the World Bank, the damage to the country caused in the result of war and occupation of Azerbaijani lands totaled nearly 80 billion dollars.
