"Regarding Karabakh and other areas - they will return to Azerbaijan, step by step, stage by stage along with the refugees.
But President Aliyev, when he was in Moscow, said that, first, there must be a corridor linking Karabakh and Armenia. This is a huge step forward when he said this. And he talked about the right of self-government of the people of Karabakh".
The due statement was made by Matthew Bryza, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, OSCE Minsk Group in an interview with Echo Moskvy radio station.
The final solution of the Karabakh problem, according to Bryza, will be a balance.
"This is a balance of principles of self-determination, territorial integrity and force exclusion. And because of that those negotiations are continuing for so long", said M. Bryza.
Asked, whether he divides the issue for discussion between Karabakh and surrounding areas, the American diplomat said: "Such negotiations are currently held. This is a very important subject of our negotiations. And I think in the end there will be the return of territories, return of Azerbaijani refugees to the territories".
