The recent meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia was another step forward, said famous political scientist Zardusht Alizade.

According to him, however, the statements of the presidents for their people, prove that no significant breakthrough in the negotiations is implied.
"Ilham Aliyev once again confirmed that the Azeri people will not agree to surrender and on establishment of a second Armenian state on the territory of Azerbaijan.
Serzh Sargsyan with all his actions said Armenians that he will make any step back from achieving the independence of Nagorno Karabakh. So this meeting does not give grounds for great hopes", noted the political scientist.
He added that some achievements are naturally possible on the way to resolution. For Azerbaijan it is a withdrawal of Armenian occupational troops from a party of Azerbaijani lands, return of our refugees and commitment not to use force.
For Armenia this is putting the status of Nagorno Karabakh for referendum in some time. But for Azerbaijan this is just a half of business and he said he is not full of optimism.
Alizade said regarding the meeting that it has once again proved the obvious truth the United States, Russia and France once again act as a guarantor of Armenian occupation. They do not see the obvious blatant fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenians, expelling Azerbaijanis, turning hundreds of thousands of people into refugees and ignoring the UN demands to withdraw from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
