Editor-in-chief of the Kommersant newspaper: "Some diaspora figures are engaged in money making"

Russia officially recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and does not recognize any "Nagorno Karabakh Republic", said editor-in-chief of the Russian Kommersant newspaper Azer Mursaliyev, who has recently become the leader of the popular and influential Moscow edition.

Here I should say that all statements about Nagorno Karabakh as a separate state, about "aggression" of Azerbaijan which allegedly caused the conflict, are not noticed or fixed here. They are fixed only in mass medias of Baku and Yereven. The role of diasporas in our countries is widely exaggerated. No diasporas in the world was able to impose its interests on any country, if these interests did not coincide with the policy of these states".

He said he has not see any logics in the opportunity to make any country sacrifice its interests.

"This is to some extend a political game, played by some officials and people not living in their country. Thus they create a capital for themselves, sometimes large, sometimes not. At the same time, sometimes it is moral and sometimes literal. I frankly speaking? would not exaggerate the importance of the factor of activity and influence of these diaspora organizations abroad", concluded Mursaliyev.
