Azerbaijan National Independence Party files claim to Supreme Court against Baku mayor's office

04 March 2009 [10:01] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijan National Independence Party has sent a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court against the Baku mayor's office.
According to spokesman for the party Ali Orujev, the party appealed to the court as it was not allowed to hold an action against the decision of the Tariff Council to raise prices at the Fizuli square in 2007.

"The fact that the mayor's office did not sanction the action of the party implies violation of the law "On Freedom of Assembly" and "Freedom of Speech.

We want this issue to be considered in Azerbaijan. Otherwise, we will be obliged to appeal to the European court of human rights. The party intends to pass all instances to present its truth", announced Orujev.

Notably, the party start to appeal to the court in October of 2007.
