29 January 2009 [18:38] - TODAY.AZ
The initiative group "For Karabakh and Republic" held a regular session Thursday, said chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan Sardar Calaloghlu.
He announced that the session participants considered the further actions of the movement.

"The civil movement made a decision to file a claim to the court against head of the Central Election Commission due to his recent statements that the initiative group "For Karabakh and Republic" is deceiving the voters while collecting signatures. Such statements can cause a negative reaction of the public", noted he.

Calaloghlu also announced that the civil movement "For Karabakh and Republic" and "Republicans" will appeal to other initiative groups - "Milli Istiglal" and "Azerbaijan Popular Front" that are against the referendum on unification.

Notably, the referendum on amendments to the Constitution is planned to be held on March 18. The initiator of the creation of the civil movement "For Karabakh and Republic" was Azadlyg bloc, consisting of three parties - the Popular Front of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, Civil Development Party, as well as the public forum "For Azerbaijan". The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Umid Party and Musavat, as well as a number of NGOs also joined the initiative of the bloc.
