Zardusht Alizade: "Improvement of Armenian-Turkish relations will not influence Azerbaijan"

29 January 2009 [10:26] - TODAY.AZ
"I do not think that the year of 2009 will become a year of the final resolution of all problems in the Armenian-Turkish relations but a significant progress in this issue is certainly possible as it is in the interests of Armenia and Turkey, said famous political scientist Zardusht Alizade, commenting on the statement of Foreign Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan that year of 2009 can become a turning point for the Turkish-Armenian relations.

He considers that the thaw in Armenian-Turkish relations will not affect Azerbaijan. "Azerbaijan has necessary potential to protect its own national interests without putting it into dependance on Armenian-Turkish relations", concluded Alizade.
