Musavat party creates initiative group on referendum

Musavat party has founded an initiative group "Republicans" for participation in the agitation campaign on referendum due to introduction of amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan, said Tural Abbasly, plenipotentiary representative of the group and chairman of the youth organization of the Musavat party.

He said in the near future the party is planning to appeal to the Central Electoral Commission for getting signature lists in order to collect 40,000 signatures.

"We do hope that after we collect necessary signatures, the Central Electoral Commission will register our group. The party intends to hold an agitation campaign against introduction of amendments to the Constitution.

The Musavat party also prefers cooperation with other opposition parties, represented in the civil movement "For Karabakh and Republic". We are going to hold joint measures", noted he.

It should be reminded that the referendum on introduction of amendments to the Constitution is planned to be held on March 18.
