The Green Parties of Azerbaijan and Georgia have released a joint statement, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
The statement says the following: "It is necessary to stop militarization of the South Caucasus and arrange a dialogue among all categories of the society for the peaceful resolution of existing conflicts in the South Caucasus.
The parties condemn the accession of the regional countries to any military bloc and urge to hold due works in order to form a democratic society in the South Caucasus.
Azerbaijan must reduce oil dependence and South Caucasus states must hold a policy of energy security. It is necessary to develop the non-oil sector in the South Caucasus. It is necessary to provide for the development of alternative energy in the region.
The parties are against the expansion of nuclear energy in the region", says the statement.
The Green Parties of Azerbaijan and Georgia call on all political parties in the South Caucasus to launch discussions on the aforementioned problems and prepare the due program.
It should be noted that head of the Green Party of Georgia Giorgi Gachechiladze is visiting Azerbaijan.
