MM publishes changes likely to be introduced to Azerbaijani Constitution

Amendments proposed to be introduced to the Azerbaijani constitution were presented at the joint session of the parliamentary commissions on legal policy and state construction.

According to Day.Az, the work group, which prepared the proposals, included head of the Milli Medjlis board Safa Mirzoyev, chairman of the parliamentary commission on legal policy and state construction Ali Huseynov, experts of Milli Medjlis Latif Huseynov and Nizami Iskenderov.

Under the proposals, the Constitution can be introduced the following amendments:

- provision of the law-making initiatives to 50,000 voters, along with commissions and committees;

- lift restrictions on the election of one and the same person as a president for more than twice;

- postponing presidential elections in case of conduction of military actions by the country;

- postponing parliamentary elections in case of conduction of military actions by the country;

- prohibition of video and photo capturing and audio recording against the will of a person, which is being captured.

Moreover, the Constitution of Azerbaijan may be introduced paragraphs on the material supply of the persons, who were the presidents of Azerbaijan; renaming the National Bank of the country into the Central Bank and renaming the executive board of the president into the presidential administration.

The discussions at the session of the commission are going on.
