Azerbaijan to send a new peacekeeping contingent to Afghanistan

On December 17 Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Safar Abiyev received Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Daftar Spantan, visiting Baku, said sources from the press service for Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.
At the meeting the Ministers exchanged views regarding cooperation between the two countries and the need to develop relations.

Abiyev noted that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev pays a special attention to the contacts with Afghanistan.

The sides highly evaluated the activity of Azerbaijani peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan.

Abiyev announced that in the near future that the new military contingent of Azerbaijan will be sent to Afghanistan.
