Terry Davis: "Destruction of memorials in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan affects the whole world"

Destruction of historical monuments and cultural memorials in the occupied Azerbaijani lands affects not only Azerbaijan, but also the entire world, said CE secretary general Terry Davis, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

"I regret very much that the visit of the PACE mission on culture and cultural heritage to Azerbaijan and Armenia is being delayed. This is connected with the differences in both sides", said the secretary general at a briefing in Baku Tuesday.

He said CE is for the familiarization of the mission with the state of historical and cultural monuments.

"It would be good to assess all these damages", said he stressing regret that the mission is postponed.

"The mission must be objective", resumed he.

In the result of Armenian occupation, 20% of Azerbaijani lands are under control of Armenian formations.
