Azerbaijan Democratic Party: "Ilham Aliyev's position in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict reflects national interests"

01 December 2008 [18:23] - TODAY.AZ
A regular session of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan was held on Monday, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
The message states that the session participants discussed the sociopolitical situation in the country and the world.

The session participants voiced regret that the opinion of the political structures and experts was not taken into account while discussing the budget for 2009. In turn, this proves that democratic principles are not taken into account.

The session participants also discussed the results of the recent visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Italy and Turkmenistan.

The party supports principal opinion of Ilham Aliyev in the resolution of the Karabakh issue, which he voiced in the interview to the Italian RAI International TV channel. The statement of the President of Azerbaijan that the Moscow declaration on the Karabakh problem, signed by the heads of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, does not deprive Baku of the right to settle this conflict by force, reflects national interests.

The session also considers Turkey's proposals on Nabucco to be inadmissible for Azerbaijan.

The session participants attached attention to new relations, established between Turkey and Armenia. The party considers that establishment of bilateral political and economic ties by this country causes a damage to relations with Azerbaijan including in the resolution of the Karabakh issue.

The session participants also voiced condolences to India in connection with terrorist acts.
