Bernard Fassier: "Sometimes people think that Nagorno Karabakh is excluded from the negotiation process. If we visit here so often, this is done to work with Nagorno Karabakh leaders"

OSCE Minsk Group co-chair of France Bernard Fassier considers it an important point of the Moscow declaration that "the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia say there is no other way of settlement except for political", said Fassier in Khankendi after the meeting of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs with the head of the Karabakh separatists Bako Saakyan.

"This implies talks, discussions, compromise, non-application of force and ruling out the forced way. Moreover, the importance of the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, who must continue work on the basis of Madrid proposals, is stressed", said the French mediators.

He also stressed the need to create and strengthen trust between the conflict parties. Noting that the co-chairs complete this year with "a significant document", Bernard Fassier assured that next year the mediators will try to do more.

"Sometimes people think that Nagorno Karabakh has been excluded from the process. If we visit here so often, we do it not to taste the Karabakh cuisine, which we highly value, but to work with the Karabakh leaders.

The Foreign minister and the president of Armenia visit here, which means that Karabakh is in the process".

It should be remindde that on Saturday, OSCE MG co-chairs Matthew Bryza (USA), Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia) and Bernard Fassier (France) visited the self-declared "Nagorno Karabakh". Earlier they had visited Yerevan.
