Ziyafat Askerov: "NATO-Azerbaijan relations are developing normally"

"NATO-Azerbaijan relations are currently developing normally, said Ziyafet Askerov, chairman of the parliamentary commission on issues of security and defense and first vice speaker of Milli Medjlis in his interview, posted on the official website of the Yeni Azerbaijan party.

He said this fact is proven by the visit of NATO Secretary General in the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons to Azerbaijan a week ago and his presence in the presidential inauguration.

"Azerbaijan has good relations with the NATO parliamentary assembly as well. In particular, the Milli Medjlis delegation will take part in the NATO PA autumn session to be held in Valencia (Spain) on November 12-18.

On the whole, it should be noted that the sides hold regular meetings and our country has always been represented worthily in the NATO events. I consider that these ties respond to the position of Azerbaijan",said Askerov.

It should be reminded that Azerbaijan has been an associated member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since November 18 of 2002.
