Elin Suleymanov: "Regardless of who is elected the US President, Washington's interest in deepening cooperation with Baku will be a key factor in the policy of the White House"

"The recent events in the region proved again that a balanced policy of the Azerbaijani leadership meets the demands of not only our country but also the entire region", said Azerbaijani consul general in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov.

According to him, it means that strengthening of the US-Azerbaijani partnership meets the needs of both parties.

"Therefore, regardless of who is elected the US President, Washington's interest in deepening cooperation with Baku will be a key factor in the policy of the White House. As for the definite candidates, senator McCain is well familiar with the situation in our region and has repeatedly noted the strategic importance of Azerbaijan", said he.

He considers that the experience of senator Obama will help him assess the importance of Azerbaijan as an example of tolerance and co-existence of different cultures.

"In this context I would like to note the initiatives of the country's leadership in the sphere of a dialogue of civilizations. Moreover, for the settlement of tasks, facing the next administration, the United States need reliable and self-sufficient partners, like Azerbaijan", concluded Suleymanov.
