UNESCO director general Koitiro Matsuura congratulated President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his re-election as President of Azerbaijan, reports Day.Az with reference to the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.

Matsuura congratulated Aliyev on victory in presidential elections and wished him success in the state activity.
"I want to thank you for long-lasting participation in the UNESCO activity and for support to ideals of the organization. Moreover, I would like to note that our organization is proud that your wife is on the list of our goodwill ambassadors", says the letter of congratulation.
In the letter Matsuura voiced hope for the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to our country in 2009.
"I am confident that your long-lasting support will promote further development of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO in the related spheres", says the letter.
