Musavat party leader Isa Qambar has congratulated Azerbaijani people on Independence Day, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.

He noted that Azerbaijani people started the struggle for independence in the late 1980s, which was marked by signing "The Constitutional Act on Independence" on October 18 of 1991.
"Thus, Azerbaijan regained its independence which it lost in 1920.
Yet it is a great pity that this date, owing to which Azerbaijan became a UN member and attained great achievements, has been removed from the list of holidays.
We, as a people, must develop traditions of independence and build our policy so that to be able to return our occupied lands.
Being the party leader and a citizen, I urge to mark the Independence Day - October 18 on the state level", says the statement.
