Center of Cooperation of Opposition puts off meeting

17 October 2008 [14:58] - TODAY.AZ
The parties, represented in the Center of Cooperation of Opposition, held a session, discussing prospects of the meeting, to be held on October 18, on Friday, according to head of the central office of the Musavat party Arif Hajili.
He said though the mayor's office allowed the parties to hold a meeting at Bibi-Eybat stadium, the parties considered this site as inexpedient for holding any actions.

"This area is far from the center and is not suitable for holding mass actions. In this connection, opposition decided to put off the meeting", noted he.

Hajili also added that the first claim of the party regarding violation of the law "On Freedom of Speech" by Baku mayor's office is currently in the Supreme Court.

"We intend to reach the European court of human rights", said Hajili.

It should be reminded that people, represented in the center, were planning to hold an action at one of the central squares of Baku.

The Center of Cooperation of Opposition notably includes the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Liberal Party, Musavat Party, Civil Development Party and Public forum "For Azerbaijan", which decided to boycott the presidential elections.
