The Green Party of Azerbaijan has received an official status of observer under the Green Party of Europe, said party co-chairman Mais Gulaliyev.
He said at the session of the council of green parties of Europe held in Paris that 34 representatives of the Green parties voted for the green party of Azerbaijan to receive an observer status.

The meetings with the representatives of the green parties of France, Russia, Georgia, Moldova, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine and Albania were also held in the framework of the visit to Paris.

The session of the council also discussed the issue, in line with which the party in cooperation with the Green Party of Georgia will hold joint events in 2009. In particular, both parties will cooperate in settling problems in the sphere of ecology, observation of human rights and so on.

"The main advantage of the status of an observer is that we will be able to share experience, get more information. Moreover, this party is represented by 38 deputies in the European Union. This is a good chance to set ties between the deputies.

Moreover, the green ideology currently has great advantages", noted he.

The session of the council of the green parties of Europe was also attended by party co-chairman Tarana Mamedova.

It should be noted that the party appealed with an issue of membership to the Green Party of Europe in January of this year.
