Azerbaijani CEC chairman meets with head of observation mission of CIS parliamentary assembly

On October 14 Mazahir Panakhov, chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of Azerbaijan, met with Svetlana Orlova, deputy chairman of the Russian Federation Council and head of the observation mission of the CIS parliamentary assembly, reports Day.Az with reference to the independent press-center.

Welcoming the guests, Panakhov spoke of the process of preparations for elections. He noted that in order to ensure openness in preparation and conduction of presidential elections, all conditions, envisioned by the law, have been created in Azerbaijan.

It was noted that web cameras had been installed at 500 constituencies. It will be possible to observe the voting process by means og these cameras on the CEC website.

Orlova, in turn, highly assessed the level of preparation for elections in Azerbaijan, as well as installation of web-cameras at the constituencies. The visitor stressed importance of studying and application of this practice in all countries, including Russia.

The chairman of the Russian Federation Council highly assessed the conduction of trainings for members of the district and regional electoral commissions, provision of technical facilities and election materials by CEC. Some other problems were also discussed at the meeting.
