"We assess the statement of presidential candidate Hafiz Hajiyev as libel and impoliteness...", reports Yeni Musavat newspaper with reference to Turan.
The newspaper reads that this was a comment of the press service for the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan regarding the speech of presidential candidate Hafiz Hajiyev who accused Minister Heydar Babayev of corruption and his son of untraditional sexual orientation.

"Azerbaijani society knows everyone well. Hafiz Hajiyev's statements, based on libel and humiliations, show his impoliteness. We consider that his speeches, full of libel, raise hatred towards him among the voters", said the press service,

The Central Electoral Commission also made a statement about the aforementioned speeches of Hajiyev. It was noted that the agitation campaign must be held on the basis of principles of mutual respect.

According to CEC secretary Natiq Mamedov, the structure he represents does not want to punish candidates, but at the same time it considers that no one has a right to humiliate others.

"The problems connected with the humiliation of honor and dignity, are regulated by the law. Those, who consider themselves to be abused, may appeal to the court", said Mamedov.
