25 September 2008 [17:01] - TODAY.AZ
The Baku mayor's office has responded to the appeal of the Center of Cooperation of Opposition related to holding the protest at one of the central squares of the capital city on September 28, said head of the central office of the party Arif Hajili.
He noted that the mayor's office recommended to the opposition leaders to hold an action at Bibi-Eybat stadium.

"We assess the response to be groundless and contradicting to the principles of constitution. The parties are not going to hold the actions there.

Due to the refusal of the mayor's office, the session of the leaders to discuss holding unsanctioned events and define the date, will be held in the near future", noted he.

It should be reminded that as central places the opposition parties chose the Fizuli, Jafar Jabbarli squares, Ganjlik, Nariman Narimanov, Azizbeyov metro stations and so on.

During the meeting the opposition parties plan to chant slogans "Transparent elections", "Ensure competition at elections" and so on.

It should be noted that the center of cooperation of opposition includes the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, Musavat party, Civil Development Party and Public forum "For Azerbaijan".
