Today, the United States, EU and Russia are not interested in the recognition of the independence of Nagorno Karabakh, said famous conflict scientist Arif Yunusov, commenting on the statement of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, according to which "in the case of the Karabakh conflict, no super state, including Russia, EU or the United States, is ready to support the right of the Karabakh people for self-determination".
According to him, the approaches of the leading countries and international institutions to any of the conflicts have always differed and will continue being different.
"It is impossible to equalize all of the conflicts. And in this sense Levon Ter-Petrosyan is right saying that by some objective and subjective reasons, the leading geopolitical players are not ready to recognize the independence of Nagorno Karabakh today or in the near future. This does not, however, imply that it will last forever. The situation may change. Everything depends on who will be more important for the strategic interests of the United States, Russia and EU", said the conflict scientist.
