Representative of US President: "We will continue cooperating with Azerbaijan after the October presidential elections"

We encourage the government of Azerbaijan to continue its plans to supply gas to the western markets. So far Azerbaijan has been consistent in it", said representative of US President on Eurasian energy S.Boiden Grey at a briefing in Baku.

He said that the United States and Azerbaijan maintained successful cooperation and they will continue cooperating following the presidential elections in Azerbaijan to be held in October.

George Bush's representative noted that he discussed issues of pipelines security both in the technical sense and in the sense of supplies.

As for Russia's plans to purchase gas from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, he said:

"I think the relations of the United States with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are good and after the recent events they have even strengthened. I do not think that either country would agree to sell the whole volume of gas to Russia. Turkmenistan sells sufficient amounts of gas to Russia and will continue the supplies, but I do not think that they will sell all of their gas only to Russia", said he.
