The National-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan held an urgent session, according to representative of the political council of the party Oqtay Halilov.

He said the session confirmed resignation of Iskender Hamidov and considered the further actions of the political structure.
"The party has several variants under which it can continue its activity. It is not ruled out that the party will unite with any political structure", said he.
The session participants also elected the party chairman. Tufan Kerimli was elected the new party chairman by results of voting.
As for the format of the party's joining the elections, Halilov said the following:
"We will decide about participation in the presidential elections at a regular session of the political council in the next two days. There is an ambiguous opinion about the elections - some consider the participation in this process mandatory and others support the boycott of elections", announced he.
It should be noted that the party had earlier been presided by former Interior Minister of Azerbaijan Iskender Hamidov.
