22 July 2008 [16:30] - TODAY.AZ
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs welcome constructive participation in the process of talks between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan after their meeting in Saint-Petersburg, says a joint statement of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia), Bernard Fassier (France) and Matthew Bryza (United States), released today on July 22.

"In this critical moment, the co-chairs call on all parties to abstain from maximalistic institutions on the spots, at the negotiation table and in public statements and avoid bellicose rhetorics, as we all are working together for attainment of peaceful resolution", says the statement.

The Minsk Group states again the absence of alternative to the peaceful resolution of the conflict.

"The co-chairs are waiting for a new meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the coming weeks to continue talks on the basic principles of the peaceful resolution of the conflict", conclude the authors of the statement.
