Social Welfare party nominates Ilham Aliyev for presidential elections - UPDATED

It should be noted that elections to the leading bodies of the party were held at the session, particularly, Khanhuseyn Kazimli was re-elected the chairman of the party.

25 people were elected to the Supreme Medjlis of the party and three members of the party were elected to the control-revision committee.

The session participants also nominated the candidacy of incumbent President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for the presidential elections. It was decided that the party will support this candidacy throughout the whole election process. The session participants approved this decision.

It should be noted that the session was attended by deputy executive secretary of Yeni Azerbaijan party Ali Ahmedov, head of the Popular Front Party Qudrat Hasanquliyev, deputy chairman of the Ana Veten party Zahid Oruj.

Social Welfare Party started its session at Park-Inn hotel in Baku today, said assistant chairman of the party Ruslam Sadikhov.

He said the session involves 351 delegates.

Party chairman MP Khanhuseyn Kazimli made a report on the activity of the party.

The session was also attended by representatives of two Russian parties. Yedinaya Rossiya party is represented by Natalia Karpova and Spravedlivaya Rossiya party by Semen Fedorovich.

The organizational issues will be considered in the second part of the session, including on Supreme Medjlis, the format of the party participation in the presidential elections will be defined.
