President of Azerbaijan visiting Nakhchivan - UPDATED

APA correspondent reports, the President attended the opening of Julfa Regional Central Hospital.

Speaker of the Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov said 36 medical centers had been opened in Nakhchivan in recent years. He said the new four-storey hospital locates on the territory of 6810 square meters and had 62 beds and was provided with all technical equipments.

President Ilham Aliyev said purposeful measures had been taken for prevention of social problems in Azerbaijan. The President spoke about the army-building process in the country and said military expenditures of Azerbaijan was higher than budgetary expenditures of Armenia.

“Alongside with all works done we have to be ready to liberate our lands by military way. Nakhchivan is able to defend itself. Additional measures will be taken for strengthening of Nakhchivan’s military potential”.

Emphasizing the successful end of regional socio-economic development program, the head of state said the new program had been elaborated currently. The President said Azerbaijan’s budget increased year by year. He said budgetary expenditures were 16 billions USD currently. The President reminded about the problems related to the stopping of gas transportation from Iran to Nakhchivan and said gas storages were constructed in the autonomous republic currently.

Then President Aliyev visited the military campus in Julfa. The head of state scheduled to attend the opening ceremonies of administrative building of Foreign Ministry’s Nakhchivan office, Nakhchivan Medical and Entertainment Centers.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has left for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic today, AzerTag reports.

Thus, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva were greeted by chairman of the Supreme Medjlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov.

The President of Azerbaijan will meet with officials of Nakhchivan.
