Iran has sent an official letter to the UN General Assembly with an intention to vote for adoption of the resolution on the situation on the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.

The due announcement was made by Ali Ahmedov, executive secretary of Yeni Azerbaijan party at an event which discussed the adoption of the resolution on Karabakh by the UN General Assembly.
Ahmedov noted that Iran supports the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the Karabakh issue.
He said that he had obtained the said information from Aqshin Mehtiyev, Azerbaijan's permanent representative in UN.
Ahmedov also said thoughtless announcement should not be made about the rejection of mediation services of the OSCE Minsk Group so far.
It should be noted that Iran did not take part in voting regarding the resolution "On the situation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan" at the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly.
